TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR FAMILY


1. Happy Au Pair Agency is an introductory agency only and therefore does not employ directly any of the applicants. Is is important to remember, that Au Pairs are NOT employees or domestic servants.

2. Au pairs are young people, both male and female, aged between 18 and 27 who go to a host country primarily to learn the language and about the culture through living with a family.

3. A family that invites a foreign Au Pair into their home is expected to treat the Au Pair as they would the son or daughter of a family friend, and to provide the Au Pair with accommodation, food, pocket money and an opportunity to improve their knowledge of the English language. Au Pair must be free to attend English classes.

4. The Family must provide a reasonably sized and well-equipped room for the Au Pair in the Family's household. This room should be solely for the Au Pair's use and must be in a good state of repair.

The Family should endeavour to satisfy the nutritional requirement of the Au Pair just like any member of the Family. In some cases there might be a difference in the type of food, etc. and this must be taken into consideration.

5. An Au Pair is expected to assist the family for about 6 hours a day,

Au pair's duties include: help care for the children, assist in the house, (vacuuming, dusting, light washing, ironing etc.), help prepare meals for the children and babysitting up to two nights per week. Many Au Pairs leave families because they feel exploited, so it is in the families best interests to work out a schedule for the Au Pair to follow in order to make the best use of his/her time. The success of the au pair arrangement depends largely on our own initiative.

6. Au Pair must have two days free per week, which should include one weekend a month. The Au Pair is entitled to one/two weeks paid holiday after a six months period of stay with the family. If the family go on holiday, it is the families responsibility to satisfactory arrangements for the Au Pair's welfare if au pair doesn't go with them.

7. Au Pairs introduced to the family are selected with care, but Happy AuPair agency cannot be held responsible in any way for the character and suitability for an Au Pair. The agency cannot accept responsibility for loss, damage, cost, expense, injury or inconvenience of any kind caused by or to the Au Pair.

8. Au Pairs will not be placed in families with children under the age of 2 years where there is a requirement for sole charge for long periods on a regular basis.

9. It is essential to communicate with a prospective au pair prior to offering them a role within your family. The family is required to make at least 1 telephone interview with the candidate.

10. All information with respect to potential Au Pairs is given to Family in good faith and in strict confidence. Details of any Au Pair can not be given to a third party without our knowledge.

11.The Family agree to be interviewed in the Family's house by the Happy Au Pair Agency's agent. The interview will be arrange during the matching process.

12. Au pairs are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel. However, the family must arrange to pick them up at the nearest airport or train station on their arrival in the host country.

13. Prior to host country arrival, if the au pair applicant has been accepted by the Family, the Family is obligated to sign a „Host Family Agreement” (will be send to the Family during the placement procedure) and send a signed copy to Happy AuPair via e-mail.

14. We do not charge host families and do not provide any replacements.

15. If the Family decide to terminate the au pairs arrangement, must inform Happy AuPair agency and give the au pair 3 weeks notice . During this time period, the au pairs shall perform their normal duties and receive acomodation and pocket money.
